I always love reading these "baby update" blog posts. I usually find myself reading up on the next month Judah will be turning so I can prepare myself for all of the possible changes! These post will also be fun to look back on when Judah is well into his teenage years. Haha.
Judah recently turned 11 months old! Woop, woop! We are just one month away from his 1st birthday. Oh my goodness! Parents always say it goes by fast, but it really does. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was in the hospital having him. I hope to share with you all my Labor & Delivery story. Until then, we'll enjoy these monthly updates. 🙂
What’s New?
As of a few days ago, Judah's 2 front teeth are coming in! That'll make a total of 4 teeth for him. Along with his new teeth, Judah's personality is coming out so much! He's such a happy baby. He smiles and laughs often. He's also become very vocal! He loves to hear his voice and will typically scream if he's in a room with great acoustics. 🙃
I don't know what it is, but over the past few weeks he's also been wanting to be held a lot more. Like, if we sometimes try to put him down, he'll start whining. So not like him! It could be because he's in a "Wonder Week" or teething. He's definitely been getting held a lot more these days.
Crawling/Walking
Judah still has not began crawling or walking! He's been sitting up a lot better on his own, but I still have to watch him to make sure he doesn't bump his head on our wood floors. I've also noticed that he's been putting himself in the "crawling position". I'm sure he'll be crawling in the next few weeks! For now, he's enjoying being carried around like a king. Ha!
Talking
Judah can say "mama" and "dada"! Yes. It is true. I'm not one of those Moms that will exaggerate things. Judah has been saying both since he was about 9 months. I'm not sure how he learned as we don't nag him about calling us. Lol. He kinda just picked it up! It melts my heart when Cornell comes home and he goes, "Dada! Dada! Dada!" Gah!
Eating
Judah still has not began eating solids! We've decided to take the "baby led weaning" approach in regards to food. We've skipped purees, cereals, and baby food. I started offering solids to Judah around 7 months. Since then I offer him about 3 meals a day. I offer him what we eat, just in a baby portion. So far he enjoys playing with his food, but hasn't ventured into tasting it yet.
Sleep
Oh, sleep - how I miss thee. Judah has literally not recuperated from his 4 month sleep regression. He was doing so well with sleeping through the night with only 1-2 night feedings. On a good night, I will only have to give him 2 feedings in the night. On a bad night, I'm up every 1-2 hours nursing him.
I'm not too sure why Judah is not sleeping through the night yet. There's a few factors to take into consideration. I feel like it may be because he's digesting my breastmilk so fast and he's not eating any solids, thus having to supplement his growing body!
I've considered taking him to a chiropractor for him to get adjusted and see if that'll help with his sleeping and also posture (being able to sit up and crawl). But then again - maybe he's just going through his own motions! Have any of you taken your babies to the chiropractor? I hear really great things about getting babies adjusted! Let me know in the comments!
